U18 Tier 1 Head Coach - Murray Lathem


Murray brings to the Lynx organization many years of experience as a Level 5 NCCP Coach working with high performance players/athletes and is one of the 1st Hockey Canada coaches in Ontario certified with the NCCP Mentor Program. He recently completed 2 seasons with the Lindsay Minor Hockey Association bringing his U18 teams to season Finalists finishes. 

Murray is excited for this opportunity in Lindsay with the Lynx and will be working hard to build a competitive U18 Tier 1 team. He plans to assemble the best staff possible to assist in the overall development of his program.


Murray’s Head Coaching successes include the Niagara Falls Flyers U18, Lakehead University Men’s Hockey Team, Rama Aces Jr. A, Port Hope Panthers Jr. C, St.Michael's Buzzers, Toronto Marlboros, Toronto Young Nationals, OMHA Richmond Hill Stars, York Simcoe Express, and the Quinte Red Devils.

He coached in Western Canada in the Major Bantam AAA league leading to the WHL draft. Murray has an extensive background including Junior Hockey, Ladies Skill Development teaching, and assisted as a developmental coach in the OHL.


As a teacher of the game, both on and off the ice, Murray understands the generational changes within our culture. As a career coach he keeps pace with the latest in technology & analytics, coinciding with on ice & off ice education. His program will provide a positive team-oriented atmosphere within a safe & healthy environment. He has been characterized as a coach who demands structure & discipline, while understanding that we are here to enjoy our time at the rink!
