Peewee Bs Show Strong in St. Catharines Tournament
The Lynx Peewee Bs advanced out of their pool with an impressive 2-1 win over the Stoney Creek Sabres to advance to the semi-finals on Sunday. Coach Shanks' game summary:
The Peewee B's ended up tied for 1st in Pool B Round Robin play of the St Catharines Badgers tournament. We tied the Amherst (USA) Knights 1-1, tied the Stoney Creek Sabres 1-1 and beat the Guelph Gryphons 1-0. That moved us on to the QF elimination game where we played Stoney Creek again. After 32 minutes we were tied 1-1. 5 minutes of 4 on 4 OT solved nothing. So shoot-out bound we were. Kayla Golden scored on a backhand deke and MacKenzie Finney stopped the 1st Sabre shooter. In the 2nd Round MacKenzie made another stop and Captain Eve Faulkner secured the win with a deke move. So playing in the SF at 8am against the Hamburg (USA) Hawks.
