They followed that up with a resounding 9-1 win in league play on Sunday night in Midland against North Simcoe. View full article for details.....

In the Championship game of the tournament the team played North Durham who had beat them 4-1 in Round Robin Play. North Durham got off to a strong start by scoring 4 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Lynx battled back hard and tied the game a few minutes later on a goal by Julia Staniland (assists to Taylor Richmond and Julia Sudsbury). The Lynx took a 2-1 lead 1 minute later on a goal by Emma Shanks (assists to Charlotte Porter and Eve Faulkner). North Durham tied the game later in the period and the score stayed tied at 2-2 into the OT period. The Lynx had to kill off a penalty in OT with some excellent penalty killing by Eve Faulkner, Emma Shanks, Charlotte Porter, Laura Brown, Hannah Vallier and Maddy Falls. The game could have gone either way and was very even but with 25 seconds left in OT North Durham scored the winning goal on a breakaway. Goalie MacKenzie Finney was named player of the game. The girls should be very proud of their Silver Medal.

After a drive up to Midland the Lynx finished off a very busy weekend of hockey with a 9-1 win over North Simcoe. It was an excellent game as the girls played their best game of the year. Goals were scored by Kayla Golden (3), Taylor Richmond (2), Charlotte Porter, Eve Faulkner, Rebecca Collins and Maddy Falls. Assists went to Jordyn Leerentveld (2), Emma Shanks (2), Charlotte Porter (2), Hannah Vallier (2), Julia Sudsbury (2), Kayla Golden (2), Rebecca Collins (2), Julia Staniland, Taylor Allen, Mya Mattiussi and Taryn Lindquist.
