Lynx Peewee Bs Capture Gold at North Bay Tournament
The Lindsay Lynx Peewee Bs put up a golden performance at the North Bay Blue Sky Tournament this past weekend.  Read the full account of the tournament from coach Chad here:

The Lynx Pee Wee B team travelled to North Bay for the Ice Boltz tournament.  Their first game was against Ottawa Valley.  The Lynx came out very strong in this game getting out to a 1-0 lead in the first period. After that the Ottawa goalie played extremely well and keeping the game close.  Ottawa got a chance late in the second period and tied it up.  It looked like it might end up in a tie but with one minute to go the Lynx scored to get a win.
Their next game was against Temiskaming Shores.  Once again the Lynx came out focused scoring 2 goals in the first period.  Temiskaming pushed back but could never solve Lindsay’s defence or goaltending and the game would end 2-0.
The third game was against an Ottawa team that Lindsay had previously tied in the Oshawa tournament.  Lindsay played one of their best games of the season in this one getting out to an early lead in the first period.  They kept Ottawa’s chances to a minimum and their constant pressure resulted in another goal in the second.  They kept Ottawa pinned down for most of the third period and it ended 2-0.
The fourth game was against West Nipissing.  Lindsay found their scoring touch in this one putting six past a strong West Nipissing goaltender.  The game end 6-1 and guaranteed Lindsay’s spot in the final on Sunday.  Their opponent would again be Ottawa.
The championship game was a physical and tight checking affair with neither team allowing their opponent any time or space.  Calls started going against Lindsay and they were repeatedly short-handed.  Each time they found another gear and repeatedly killed off the penalties while still getting some chances.  They finally scored early in the third period and looked like they would be able to hold onto the lead to the end.  Two more penalties were called against them late in the third.  Ottawa pulled there goalie and it became 6 on 3.  They killed off the first penalty but just as the second was almost finished Ottawa scored with a minute to play.
5 minutes of overtime solved nothing.  The game went to a shootout and the first 3 shooters on each team were stopped.  On the fourth chance Lindsay scored and Ottawa was blanked giving Lindsay the championship.
