Congratulations Peewee C- Orillia Tournament Silver Medalists!
Submitted By LeAnn Donnelly on Monday, January 15, 2018
The peewee C team journeyed to the Orillia Hawks tournament this weekend.  After a loss and a tie on Friday in two hard-fought games, we were in 4th place in our pool.  Saturday started off with a commanding 4-0 win over 5th place Ennismore in our first quarter final.  Then we faced off against 1st place North Bay. In what was arguably our best game of the year, we managed to hold them to a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation, forcing a shoot-out.  Fans were on the edge of their seats as the score remained tied until the 7th shooter.  And we won!!  A super-human effort by each and every player, as well as some superb goal tending, earned our team a spot in the semi-finals.

In Sunday morning's semi-final, we met up with Mooretown, whom we had tied on Friday.  In an awesome set play off an offensive zone face off, a blazing point shot found the net and gave us a 1-0 victory!  We were off to the finals!  We faced a very strong team from Temiskaming Shores in the final.  In spite of a great effort by the entire team, we were unable to pull off a win.  However, our team should be extremely proud of their silver medals- they were well-earned.  Congratulations girls!
