On Saturday the Bantam BB team and their families enjoyed an old-fashioned hockey game
against the Ice Wolves of Kingston under the stars and cool breeze of the
winter air. Wolfe Island is home to a beautiful outdoor rink that truly
exemplifies hockey in Canada. The rink boasts two locker rooms and a trailer
doubling as two more rooms. At each end of the rink, chain link fence stops
pucks from leaving the ice and fans leaning over the side boards from goal line
to goal line cheering with every breath.
Leaving Wolfe Island with a victory may have been over
shadowed by the trip to and from our destination. We were extremely fortunate
to have the opportunity to travel aboard a beautiful coach bus from DeNure
Tours. Players and families enjoyed riding in style while solidifying that hockey family bond we all share.
For some players this trip may be the highlight of their season or even their hockey careers. Regardless of what this trip meant individually, I can say with certainty everlasting memories with their teammates were made.
I would encourage any team, given the opportunity, to participate in this event. Thanks to the Kingston Ice Wolves for sharing this amazing day with us Lynx.
We wish to express a sincere thank you to DeNure Tours, Mandy Morrison and LeAnn Donnelly for organizing our transportation and to Paul Robson, our professional coach driver for ensuring our safety and comfort while on the road!
