Bantam BB Update
After splitting the first 2 games - both teams winning on the others home rink - the stage was set for a 3rd 'winner take all' game with the team from Markham in the Lower Lakes first round play-off match up.

With the game under way Markham scored in the early going and held that lead until the end of the second when the Lynx tied it up 1-1 with 0.53 seconds left on the clock.  The start of the third saw the lynx find their legs and let loose in the final period, out-shooting the home team and hitting 4 goal posts in the process. There was more of the same in the 4 on 4 over time period but it was to no avail as the Markham Goalie was up to the task, and Lynx goaltender was unbeatable. So after all that great hockey it came down to the dreaded shoot out , every team and coaches nightmare as a team game now comes down to a 1 on 1. Teams traded shots 10 times each and both goalies were perfect,  until Markham's 10th shooter found a chink in Ally Ibbitson's armour and the home team was on their way to the second round vs the waiting team from Whitby.   An AMAZING effort by a team who started the season 0W-5-L-1T to finish 9W-8L-5T and finish 6th in the East  came within a game of putting the #3 seed out of the play-offs. After the game the Markham coaches approached myself and staff and complemented us on what a well-balanced and hard working team we have. The coach went on to say when they drew us in round #1 they knew they were in for a battle - and it came right down to the wire    On that note, there is still the Provincials side of the OWHA play-offs and we are currently tied 1pt a piece with Peterborough after a game #1 tie. Next game is set for Next Sat in Peterbourough and back home on the 21st in Lindsay. Check the Lynx Web page for game times please.  Come on and cheer them on all the way to the Provincial tournament.
With that said I'd like to congratulate the PeeWee "B" team after beating out the Scarborough Sharks Sat afternoon winning that series 5pts  to 1pt and are now off to the second round Vs Whitby WildCats.  Good luck PeeWee "B"                             Coach Jeff Adams
