It's Off to OWHA Provincials for Bantam BB
Congratulations to the Bantam "BB" on a great series with the Peterborough Ice Kats. After a game #1 Tie and both teams taking a point the Lynx played very determined and skilled hockey over the next 2 games in which they won by a duplicate score of 2-0 and took a commanding 5 points to 1 point lead in the series.
With game #4 in Peterborough and there backs to the wall the Ice Kats came out scratching and clawing for every inch of ice and after throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Ally Ibbitson in the net, the Ice Kats got a fortuitous bounce after a net crash that saw the puck go up above the cross bar and down behind the 4 players in the crease and in to the net. What a game it was and with that 1 lone goal was the difference in making this series now needing a game #5. Now with game #5 at the Lynx home rink and Peterbourough needing a Win and then another win in OT the Lynx said "NO WAY - not in our house". After a hard-fought tooth and nail , back and forth first the Lynx got on the board with a great backhand from a goal mouth scramble. And a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way , but you had to be there to see how hard both teams played to end the game and the series. All I can say is WOW , all the hard work over the season is down to 1 tournament in April. With 5 weeks to prepare this team , these 15 players will be ready to make their mark. With a little luck and a couple bounces from the Hockey Gods......... Maybe even A gold medal winner !!!!
